Background:
Banire Olayinka Sharafa (fondly known as BOS), born on August 24th, 1974, hails from Lagos Island and is a distinguished social entrepreneur, technocrat, and philanthropist. With over 25 years of professional experience, he has excelled across multiple sectors including banking, finance, entrepreneurship, technology, and social impact.

Education & Professional Development

Mr. Banire holds an HND in Accounting and Finance, a BSc in Accounting, an MBA in Finance, a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science, and a Master’s in Information Technology. He is also currently pursuing a Master’s in Health Management and Planning at the University of Ilorin, expanding his expertise in healthcare leadership and policy.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Classic Entrepreneurship, the Institute of Recruitancy of Nigeria and London, and has received professional training from renowned institutions such as the Lagos Business School, international banking institutes, and the Advanced Lions Leadership Institute.

Career & Business Leadership

BOS began his career in the banking industry, where he worked across operations, treasury, marketing, control, foreign operations, and e-banking. He served at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Speak-Easy Cellular & Paging Systems, Access Bank, Intercontinental Bank, and FCMB, where he rose to become Unit Head of Federal Ministries and Agencies, earning several awards for excellence.

Today, he is the President of Harafban Group, with more than 10 subsidiaries in energy, oil and gas, agriculture, construction, entertainment, hospitality, and consulting. He is also the CEO of August2428 Nigeria Ltd (Oja.ng), an e-commerce platform for fresh produce and household essentials, which won the BusinessDay Award in 2024. In addition, he leads LagIsland24 Entertainment Ltd (BusinessDay Award, 2025) and Byinks Health.

Philanthropy – Byinks Foundation

In 2007, BOS founded the Byinks Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the Harafban Group, dedicated to alleviating poverty and empowering communities. Since inception, the Foundation has touched the lives of over 1,000,000 less-privileged Nigerians through its wide-ranging programs.

Key interventions include:

  • Providing free career talks, counselling, and training to over 70,000 students across Lagos and Southwest Nigeria.
  • Donating free JAMB forms and tutorials to students annually, covering feeding and transport, with a record of over 750 beneficiaries awarded full university scholarships.
  • Supplying first-aid boxes to Lagos educational districts and local government health centres and supporting free healthcare programs.
  • Empowering widows, supporting orphanages such as SOS Village, Heritage Home, and Modupe Cole Memorial Home.
  • Facilitating employment placements for over 500 candidates in public and private sectors.
  • Sponsoring capacity-building initiatives for teachers and students, including specialized training at Lagos Business School.
  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Foundation supported over 4,000 vulnerable households and teachers with food palliatives across Lagos State.

Notably, Byinks Foundation recorded academic excellence by producing the 4th best UTME candidate in 2019 (score of 338) and securing over 70 merit admissions into federal universities that year.

His vision for Byinks Foundation is to be the NGO of Choice in Africa by 2025, focusing on Food, Education, Employment, and Health.

BOS’s work has earned multiple recognitions, including BusinessDay Awards for his companies, academic excellence awards, and community service accolades for his contributions to education, youth empowerment, and philanthropy.

He has also received more than 100 Humanitarian Awards which includes Sir, Ahmadu Bello Saudana Distinguished Leadership Award.

Food

Byinks Foundation has made a mark by identifying and providing food to the less privileged irrespective of their tribe, education or religious divides long before food shortage projection by experts in June, 2024

Education

As a Foundation, our mission is to reduce the level of illiteracy and hooliganism amongst less privilege youths in our communities and to empower this generation with the tools necessary for a productive life.

Byinks foundation motto, ‘’do not turn anyone down’’ has been in operation for many years. As a result, we still cater to the employment needs of other qualified graduates who contact us for assistance.
